God is at work in the Dikusoka Family
In 2025, we met the Dikusoka family and our initial meeting was heartbreaking. With 4 kids, a fractured marriage, and living far from town, there was little hope of necessary income and Christian community.
We were able to see God working His will in this family when we returned this year! Two of the children, Missi and Ibrahim, were sponsored and had joined school; the whole family was benefitting from additional clothing and food IChooseYou Ministry Partners had provided; the parents reunited, and the father, who is currently Muslim, danced and praised God for his sons being in school!
God is working in the hearts of children and families in the ministry! Praise God!
Meet our graduate this year: Jacob Odongo
We were excited to celebrate the graduation of Jacob Odong this year! He’s worked hard at his diploma over the last several years and is now ready to take a job as a plumber! During the ceremony, Jacob’s mother shared a moving story of her sons (Jacob and his twin Isaac) joining IChooseYou and the positive impact it has had. She also gave glory to God for sustaining her as her doctors gave her months to live after being diagnosed with HIV many many years ago!
Pray for IChooseYou on May 3
IChooseYou will be featured at our (Haley and Andrew’s) home church, Calvary Bible Church, for something called the Micah 6:8 Weekend. This is a weekend that the church sets aside every year to focus on ways that we can practice justice and mercy. This means that we have the opportunity to share about IChooseYou and the church can link arms with our ministry.
Please pray for us on May 3! Pray that God would allow us the privilege of sponsoring 50 new kids; that we would raise scholarship funds for the few entering trade schools and universities; and that God would raise up some Ministry Partners and be covered in prayer.
Student updates
We have been enjoying regular updates from Simon, a new staff member, who helps counsel and check in on the kids and their families. They have begun a weekly bible study which has given opportunities for some of the older kids to lead and has helped many of the kids grow in their knowledge of scripture. During their holiday season many of the children participated in a singing and dancing group called the Smile Choir which allowed them to develop their talent and gain confidence while worshipping God on stage.
Thank you
We are so grateful for your ongoing support and would love to answer any questions you may have. The kids are so grateful and send their greetings and appreciation through us to you. Their lives are being changed and the impact is visible. Praise God for everything he is doing in Mbale, Uganda.
