Kana lives with her mother, Stella Rose Amuge, her older sister Victoria Ann, and her younger brother in their home. When Kana was three, her father left and married someone else. Shortly after, her mother gave birth to Kana's younger brother by cesarean section — alone, without support, and without money for food or her own recovery. Their father has never returned or been in contact with the children. Kana's mother has been carrying all of it on her own since then. Kana is eager to go to school. She sees other children going and wants what they have. A sponsor puts her in that line.
