My story
Joseph was born into a humble Christian family and grew up in a rented home in Mbale with both his mother and father. He started school at age four and loved it from the very beginning, but he was repeatedly sent home for unpaid fees and missing scholastic materials. By Primary Three, his father — the family's only earner — could no longer keep up. By Primary Four, his mother had stepped in, taking on any work she could find and pulling out loans to keep Joseph and his siblings in school despite having no steady job of her own. The family lived month to month on borrowed money and borrowed time. Then one day his mother came home from church and told Joseph her prayers had been answered: he had been chosen for IChooseYou. He's worked hard in schoool and is now ready to pursue a course in Clinical Medicine. With a scholarship provider, the boy who was so often sent home from school can become the man who shows up for others.
