My story
Esther was very young when her father abandoned the family, leaving her mother to raise her and her three siblings alone. They lived in the Namatala slums before moving to a rural village called Namabasa, hoping for a better life. But with no stable job and little income, Esther’s mother struggled to provide even the basics—food, rent, or school fees.
When IChooseYou met Esther, she was gathering garbage. They asked if she wanted to go to school, and she was immediately welcomed into the program. Since then, everything has changed.
Esther is now University, studying to become a lawyer. She is such a smart student and has excelled academically in all her studies. Her mother is deeply grateful—not just for school fees and a brighter future, but for the monthly food support that has lifted her family out of desperation and brought dignity and hope into their home.
