My story
Beatrice grew up in a polygamous family that didn’t know Christ. Her father had married 3 women and had many children. Her dad didn’t make nearly enough money to support the family and so often Beatrice, her sister and her mom went without food. Paying for school fees was not an option either. In an effort to help feed her family, Beatrice’s mother tried to get a job herself; she was able to do some odd jobs, but it left Beatrice to take care of her little sister from early in the morning to very late at night. Her mom was only able to bring home old food for the girls, and it eventually made Beatrice’s sister very sick. Beatrice’s mom stopped working in order to help care for them. It was in 2010 that Beatrice became an IChooseYou child and was finally able to go to school full time and the family was able to start receiving steady food to sustain them.
