My story
Jacob and his twin brother, Isaac, grew up in a broken home. His father abandoned the family when they were young without providing anything for their basic needs, and he eventually died from AIDS. Jacob, Isaac, and their mother moved to live with their grandmother. Jacob’s mother looked for work daily, but was only able to provide a single small meal in a day. Jacob and Isaac had become malnourished and were frequently sick. IChooseYou enrolled both of the twins into the program in 2009, taking them to school and providing regular food and medical care. The twin’s mother is extremely grateful because she is dying from AIDS and is unable to help provide for them. Jacob has excelled in school and is pursuing a career as a plumber.
