Jolly Namawa
Girl, 12 years old
Quick facts
My story
Jolly has lived with her mother and older sister ever since she was a baby, after her mother fled an abusive relationship to protect them. Her mother became pregnant with Jolly as a teenager and gave up her education to raise a family. When things turned violent, she left to build a life of safety and faith—cleaning homes and washing clothes to provide food for her daughters.
Jolly’s father has never supported her—not financially or emotionally. Her mother has begged him to help send her to school, but he’s remained silent. Despite it all, Jolly is intelligent, full of determination, and dreams of becoming a doctor one day. She knows that education is her chance to change everything.
